that's fair, I was turned off from gushing over magical girls too because of the characters actually looking their age for once. I just appreciate the ambition (even if a lot of the fetishes aren't for me), but if it was any other genre I would probably not like it at all lol

If I can give Takamine props, it's miles better than Inukai's Dog or the cat one that came out last season. Other than her staging a rape scene in the first episode, it's pretty inoffensive, for better or worse. I'm just picky, I like trash anime but I want fun trash that go all out, and I just find Takamine to be actual trash that is not fun to watch due to the (in my opinion) boring plot, and lack of ecchi that hardly goes beyond a few brief glimpses of her peeling off her underwear and him putting them back on, maybe we'd get lucky and see a few titties and ass cheeks for a few seconds too.

but like you said, to each their own. I don't write reviews to change people's opinions, I just like expressing mine and seeing if others agree or not. Thanks for being civil about it, I've seen some scary people on this website who would chastise you for even thinking about hating on a show they like lol

I agree somewhat, if you just want a mindless ecchi it's fine, I'm just personally not a fan of when they're pretty standard and not much different from a regular anime minus a couple tit shots. That's why I like Gushing Over Magical Girls, not only is the plot actually good, the PLOT is more than just brief panty or tit shots, they go all out with it. I disagree with the characters though, I think it is important for me to actually like them so I can be invested enough into watching it all the way though, but from the 3 episodes I watched they're still pretty damn unlikable. I can see them changing Takamine's personality a little bit to make her more likable, but there's something about her I just don't like. And Shirota is hands down one of the worse ecchi protagonists I've seen, at least other loser MCs have at least something likable about them, but Shirota is just a loser with no friends who gets turned into Takamine's slave.
