It may sound like an exaggeration but in my opinion, it is the best work of art in human history.
I watched a lot of series,movies read books and comics but none of them were as close to perfect as Berserk.
The drawings are incredibly high quality and detailed. You can hang some s on the wall as portraits.
Miura has developed his drawing style over the years to such a level that no one can even come close to him. He is at the top all by himself.
The story is very deep,philosophical and also very epic, incredible. It is both logical and full of incredible surprises. This ... is a really difficult thing to do, by the way. A lot of effort has been put into the characters. They are not superficial. They all have a detailed story and philosophy. There are so many interesting creatures, lands and events that it is impossible not to be amazed by Miura's imagination.

Yes this work is not for everyone there is a lot of violence and disgusting things but life is exactly like that. Maybe that's why I love this work so much. Despite all the madness it feels very realistic.
In conclusion, Berserk is a masterpiece that must be experienced before you die.

The manga has very good art. On that alone, it would rate much higher than 6. For readers who like to sit and ire the art of each page, this manga might be a treasure trove. But for those with a quicker reading style who only glance at the art, don't expect to read the greatest manga of all time.

This manga is held back by its repetitive depictions of sexual abuse (SA). Opening a dark fantasy, a reader is prepared for terrible things like murder, torture, and SA. This manga has all three, but depicts SA eye-rollingly repetitively. When villains are introduced, they're shown ... doing SA. To raise the stakes during story arcs, the potential consequences of the heroes' failure usually includes SA. These tricks work the first few times but just feel cheap for most of the manga's duration.

We all know and love Berserk, but there's just one reason why I can't recommend this show to anyone.

The reason I don't recommend this manga, despite its popularity and widespread praise, is because of how it handles the topic of rape. While it's true that these plot points add weight to the story and attempt to portray real-world issues, the way they are depicted feels off. The victims are often shown in overly sexualized positions and appear unrealistically clean for the given scenario, which doesn't align with the gravity of the situation. To me, it feels like the manga is glorifying rape rather than treating ... it with the seriousness it deserves.

The art – 9/10
However, the art by Kentaro Miura is amazing and incredibly pleasing to the eye. The double-spread pages are insanely well-drawn, and it looks even crazier when you're holding a deluxe edition book.

If you don't mind the "glorified" rape scenes in the manga, you'll love this series—but otherwise, it's just not worth buying or reading.

edit: I dont understand why some of you think this is 'funny' while this is a real problem about the show holding it back, the rape scenes are obviously there for a reason but for the victims to be literally posed up and shining clean during them is insane to me, especially given the scenario where the rape occurs.
