Kusuriya no Hitorigoto 2nd Season

Using her wit and vast knowledge of medicines and poisons alike, Maomao played a pivotal role in solving a series of mysteries and conspiracies that plagued the imperial court. Having recently come to with the secrets of her parents, she returns to fulfill her normal duties on behalf of the emperor's highest-ranking consorts. Maomao also works alongside the eunuch Jinshi to better the consorts' many ladies-in-waiting, including helping them learn to read.

However, with the arrival of a merchant caravan comes a new wave of intrigue. A pattern of strange coincidences involving the visitors and their wares unsettles Maomao, driving her to investigate the puzzling circumstances behind the convoy. As dangers from both outside and within threaten the balance between the imperial concubines, Maomao continues to utilize her cunning and medical expertise to keep the women safe from harm.

This anime in my opinion is amazing, I will describe it in three words
past future present
I started the first season I was finish the first seson in 4 day 24 episodes I thought to myself oh no I'm going to finish it in probably in month but then i enjoy from any min of the anime the charcter music and story
i fell in love with this anime this anime is something else Many parts of this anime remind me of the past. This anime is one of the special ones because it is connects many subjects together, it connects nature, it connects animals, and it ... connects a big story inside. This anime also reminds me of the silence of the water, the silence of the forest, what I think is most special about this anime is the silence it gives you. I think that's what's most special about this anime It's the colors and the silence, the beauty and the calm. In conclusion, I recommend you watch the first and second season if you haven't seen first seson and the scound seson i think that that you are missing out on a mysterious and amazing journey with a lot of peace and quiet because this anime in my personal opinion shows real life
And that's what makes this anime special

Mixed Feelings

Preliminary (8/24 eps)

The quality of the animation, the sound design, the music, the voice acting for both Japanese and English, have all been very good. However, almost halfway through the season and lots of story beats are built up only to immediately go nowhere. To be fair, that was also a bit of a motif in season 1, as MaoMao tried to avoid any political intrigues, but ultimately her relationship (for lack of a better term) with Jinshi was what forced her character to be in those uncomfortable situations and deal with them - that's completely lacking in this season so far. Their relationship development was a ... significant part of why I liked season 1 so much, amongst many other things of course, but that has not been present at all in season 2. I want to clarify that this isn't about shipping, my argument really is that there's not a lot forcing her growth as a character and Jinshi just kinda hangs around sometimes but never as an active player within the story as he was in season 1. With each ing episode I feel more and more disappointed that both MaoMao and Jinshi's character development have fallen to the wayside and completely stagnated. So far it has been a lot more about solving mysteries halfway, and then MaoMao bailing on those situations when they get more complicated. There are 12 more episodes ahead, so a lot can still change, but so far this season has left me a bit disappointed.

Hi!! I'm not a native English speaker, in case there's something misspelled or something...

This has been a real disappointment. The first season was great, I loved it, but the pace of this second season and how irrelevant what happens generally isn't... it's impossible for me to enjoy it all. Maomao's development is null. Just when it seemed like it was getting interesting, everything just stays the same, a waste of time.

I watched 14 episodes, there's no way I can continue. I've already lost interest. Slow pacing is one thing, nothing happening is another... I'm really sad about the drop in quality.
