We all know that vampires suck blood as their food and we also know that vampires create offspring by biting their prey.
The same thing also happens in this anime, the vampire still sucks blood and they also create offspring by turning other humans into vampires.
But the thing is, this actually the first anime that makes me acknowledge that when vampires suck your blood, they’re not only eating but also having sex at the same time. It makes me realize how much of an efficient creature vampire is, cause they basically can do two of human’s greatest pleasure, sex and eating at one go and that’s ...

The night is a very unexplored landscape for many of us. Some of us perceive it as dangerous and scary, and some others perceive it as a time to party, to let themselves go, and for most of us, we’re probably fast asleep. I’m sure a lot of you have experienced a time in life when you just didn’t want to fall asleep, perhaps because you weren’t satisfied with what you achieved in the day, or you feared what tomorrow will bring, but rest assured, in Call of the Night, the night is viewed as a beautiful time, and a time to release all inhibitions, ...

This show is stunning and beautiful and hilarious. The environment at night is encapsulated in purple, which sets up a perfect scenery for these characters. Just like the manga, the characters feel more lively as they bounce off each other with such enthusiasm. Yofukashi no Uta / Call of the night as has a beautiful sound track that plays during what I call “roaming scenes”. Basically shots of the characters roaming around the city. Sure the series will start off slow, but will have a powerful liftoff once the other vampires are introduced. Yofukashi no Uta is a perfect modern masterpiece that revolves around the ...

If you're looking for some fun at night, you've got it in Yofukashi no Uta. It brings it and more so. Before I talk about it any more, there is a part in the review I wanna cover, which deserves so much attention first.
Art and sound: 10 I honestly dig it, and love it. They really make the night seem special. Not just in the sense of going out and experiencing it. But the whole look and feel of it. You really get a great feel of a night in a quite and vibrant place such as this. There is a lot to be appreciative about ...

So, where to start. Let me correct, for the record, what this anime is about and what it's not about. It's not about vampires; it's not about 14-year-old boys; it's not about insomnia; it's not about bad parenting; it's not about sex: It's about THE NIGHT. I get a sense that a lot of people writing reviews here have never experienced the night and never felt what this anime captures in such an honest way about the mood of the night. I also feel like fellow reviewers have never found a friend who brings out a different side of themselves in the night, who can ...

Pink-haired goth vampire girl grooms a 14-year-old black-pilled incel.
Call of the Night is a relaxing vampire anime about an antisocial middle school student named Kou. One night wandering the streets, he encounters a mysterious woman named Nazuna, and she turns his world upside down. As Kou gets to know her, he discovers that she's a vampire who has lived for decades and has been searching for a special connection. Together, the two explore the city's dark and vibrant nightlife and discover a hidden world of insomniacs, vampires, and unconventional love. Nazuna's relationship with Kou is purely transactional, so they say. She drinks his blood; he ...

Here is my opinion so far about Yofukashi no Uta. Please keep in mind that this review is reflecting to anearly state of the anime, my opinion might change as the time goes.
Firstly we have a 14 years old students, who can't find his place in the world. He used to be pretendingaround others his whole life, after all he stopped going school. As we knows he suffers from insomnia, and that's why he decides to leave home in the evenings. After meeting a girl and finding out she's a vampire, his goal will be to become one as well. And the method for it.. how ...

Yofukashi no Uta is a brilliant tale of teen angst, depression and anxiety and one of the best examples of artistic storytelling I have seen in anime.
By now, everyone has seen Nazuna memes and gifs floating around the internet, and while Nazuna is without a doubt a great waifu with some really funny moments. What makes Yofukashi no Uta so good is how it works as an allegory for mental health issues. Ko, the MC, avoids going to school by staying up all night and wandering around a gorgeously rendered nightscape environment. On that journey he meets everything from vampire families to other students ...

Call of the Night COULD have been a great show. The concept itself is good, the music is amazing, it's funny, the characters are fun, the events that happen in the show are entertaining, and the art style and color palette are remarkable... but the show just isn't great.
You probably already know what my complaint is going to be at this point. The story of Call of the Night revolves around the relationship between Nazuna, who is a 40 year old vampire, and a 14 year old boy named Ko. Ko, in order to escape his dull life, is trying to become a vampire like Nazuna. ...

I've been noticing a trend recently with anime. This doesn't apply to all modern anime, but from what I've seen, people look at an anime, spot good animation and a great soundtrack, and are very quick to label it a 10 or a masterpiece. I'm not that sorta person.
Is Call of the Night good? Yes. It's enjoyable. But I don't think it's one of those anime where you're going to be blown away from the incredible storytelling, or anything of the sort. It feels like one of those "enjoy the ride as you go along" type anime. And I have nothing wrong with that. Story: 6/10 Let's ...

TL;DR : You have to be imaginative.
Reading all the extremely negative reviews made me laugh. Is this an anime review or parental complaint section? To be honest, I was a little surprised when I saw that many people were surprised to see a plot like this. Yofukashi no Uta tells the story of a teenager who struggles to understand the complex concept of love. This is not something new. Many other literatures and films share the same premise. imagine the following scenario: you: Boy, you look hungry. Wanna some chocolate? boy: Not just chocolate. I want a whole chocolate factory with chocolate rivers and fountains, and squirrels sorting nuts. Boom! ...

Monster movies has been a source of entertainment that has been around for a century. Iconic monsters such as Godzilla, King Kong, and Kajiu are recognizable by their reptuation alone. However, vampires has always been in an oddball position. There are some iconic vampires such as the infamous Dracula, but the sheer amount of vampires in the media today has been oversaturated. It's a market that hardly strikes as unique even when translated into anime. Thankfully, Call of the Night is one such show with vampires that I grew fondly of this year.
Based on the manga of the same name, we have another adaptation created ...

Vampires exist everywhere: history or modern, enclosed in media where depending on the medium, they're either the most vicious "Creatures of the Night" or in some cases, sexually objectified because of their predatory bloodsucking and capability to use their prey to create offspring. One case example is the ever so "lovable" but cringeworthy Twilight series that has won the hearts of fangirls oogling not at the actual vampires, but the actors themselves, because you know, it's Hollywood and ABSOLUTELY nothing about it is shameful (and yes, even 10~15 years since its release, I still hate it with a ion). Ugh, definitely more in of ...

Welcome to the most stylistic and relatable anime of the summer season. Call of the Night is as good as it hyped up to be. I think we all had those moments growing up where we didn’t know what our point in this world is, so with that relatable belief sprinkled in with some vampire fun, it ends up making a really good anime. From the characters to the environments, to the story, everything was done so well. It was funny when it needed to be, and did a really good job when it dealt with some serious tones. In all honesty, it really surprised ...

Okay, so just imagine Don't Toy With Me Nagatoro on steroids, and it's midnight... That's basically what this anime is, but with a thirsty vampire maiden instead of a 15-year-old school girl.
This show is beyond crazy, and I LOVE IT. The OP and ED are god-tier, the art looks so clean and colorful, It definitely stands out. The comedy is also very funny. Also, this is the first time I've seen this kind of romance anime, it's very original in a way. I really enjoyed watching this and I would definitely recommend this to someone else who wants to see a well-produced comedy/romance anime.

This show sets a bad precedent for future animes if it can rake in a score of 8.
[The year is 30XX and the only anime that ever gets made is oversexualized fanfic between "generic black haired teenage anime protagonist with the social skills and awareness of a 2 year old toddler" and the "Hot female protagonist who is 3 million years old but looks like a 16 year old tiktoker with the emotional maturity of a lobotomized chihuahua".] The only other shows that ever get made is sequels to shows that are actually good. Can we please go back to shows that are actually well written and ...

Yofukashi No Uta, better known as "Call Of The Night" Is a wonderful series that keeps bringing me back CONSTANTLY!
This is a short review for now as the series hasn't finished. I love the main character Ko, and his problems with sleeping, that causes him to walk around at night with a beautiful background. "Nazuna the Vampire" that strolls the night, only to find him. I really liked the art style, and the compelling background. The story isn't fully covered in season 1, and hopefully season 2 has it's airing. ...

This anime has left me speechless, and I'm not even kidding when I say it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
The animation? Top-notch. The way Ko Yamori's emotions were conveyed through his expressions and movements? Unbelievable. I felt like I was right there with him, experiencing every high and low. And Nazuna Nanakusa? Oh man, her character development is insane! From her initial sassiness to her vulnerable moments, I was completely invested in her journey. But what really got me was the storytelling. It's like the creators took all my favorite themes - music, love, loss, and self-discovery - and wove them into ...

Okay, so this turned out to be so, so good. I read the first 4 or so volumes of the manga back when it first came out and I rapidly became enamored with the nocturnal world this story resides in.
Ko Yamori is your average underachieving insomniac that suddenly stumbles into the life of Nazuna Nanakusa, a vampire (and candidate for 2022 Best Girl) who apparently lives with a sense of slightly reckless abandon as she lives her life from night to night. Ko, world-weary and apathetic, finds in Nazuna the sense of adventure that is lacking in his everyday life. He becomes determined to ...

A boy decides to sneak out at night and finds the experience of roaming the suburban and city streets to be exciting and fulfilling, discovering that he has a great appreciation for the evening and the atmosphere it brings. In his nighttime exploration he encounters a peculiar character that will change his outlook on life entirely.
The story is contrived; the main character is a conveniently empty husk that has no apparent awareness of friendship or intimacy and lacks a fundamental understanding of relationships, despite being depicted via his various internal monologues as being relatively self-aware, socially competent at communicating with many different personalities, and being ... |
