There's a whole episode dedicated to a "less than side character" backstory, the main fights are also full of talking, flashbacks etc. I season 1 was like this too in this regard, but at least all the sob stories/sentimental bs was either about Sakura or some major characters, it feels so trashy listening to a sob story of a fodder character, trying to squeeze out some emotions, like even if they become a recurring character they will still barely cut it as a side character...
Not to mention the noticable CGI in mass fighting scenes. Like I get it, it would've cost a ton to anime that stuff, but surely there were better ways to go about it, like still frames, camera angles etc. But also the fights themselves feel less interesting, season 1 had better coreography and just simply more fighting.
It's best to wait until all episodes air and see how people react when all is said and done, as of now it feels like a chore watching the episode each week, and the first 3 eps were supposed to cover a huge, interesting fight...
