I don't like to display my birth name so I go by Melody as an alternative online.
I started to watch anime in 2016-2017 but started watching seriously around 2019-2020.
I watch everything I find (although I somewhat stopped digging animes up besides seasonals until I watched everything on my current list) and I don't drop any anime.
I have Google Documents that are separated into 4 which are; 1 minute - 5 hours, 5 hours 1 minute - 10 hours, 10 hours - ∞ & Seasonals to ease the look of the watching list.
I rate animes considering the art, story, and enjoyment.
My favorite anime types are: horror, thriller, psychological, mystery & slice of life
I like to have a list of anime milestones although I'm not certain about the milestone 100th so it isn't displayed:

I've watched Re:Zero 3S, Shangri-La Frontier 2S and Solo Leveling 2S.
As for manga, I'm reading Chainsaw Man, Gokusotsu Kraken. In addition to other manga that I occasionally read.
And what are you reading and watching?
Heyy, it’s all good! I’m happy to get your reply anytime—no need to rush!
I’m slowly getting used to managing my list online now, but sometimes I end up reading or watching something on the go and totally forget to note it down or rate it. So that keeps happening—but I guess I’ll get the hang of listing and rating everything properly eventually.
Parasyte is a solid anime, you’ll enjoy it for sure! And as for School Days... well, good luck with that one—that’s probably the best I can say! 😅
Shadows House has a really intriguing concept, so I might give that a try before jumping into any other horror anime. I just finished Season 1 of this romance/mystery anime called The Apothecary Diaries, and it’s been such an amazing watch. Not sure if you’ve seen it already, but if not, I definitely recommend giving it a go!
Take care, and I hope you’re having a lovely weekend~ 🌸
Ahh, I see – it must be tough to keep such a big list, but you're doing an amazing job at it! Keep up the great work! It definitely makes sense to have it digitized; that way, you can keep a backup, and it's much easier to categorize, sort, and search through. I struggling to keep track of all the names while writing them down. I'd often end up writing the same names twice, only to strike them out and replace them with a new one. It was such a pain, so I'm really glad I won't have to deal with that repetitive stuff while maintaining my list on here.
Ahh, Shiki! I do seeing its trailer back in the day. It looked great, but since it was ongoing, I decided to check it out later and just never got around to it. Thanks for the recommendation – I’ll definitely check it out!
Omg, the OVA was sooo good! I loved how she finally got the attention she deserved – I watched it twice! xD
I totally agree with you! A psychology anime wouldn't be fun if it didn’t make me question things. Speaking of which, I watching some weird, mind-bending animes in the past that made me question my sanity... not sure if they were psychological, but one that stands out is "School Days." I watched it to the very end, sigh... Have you seen "Parasyte: The Maxim"? It’s a solid psychological anime! And what's "Shadows House" like? I haven't heard of it before – is it fun?
I’ll also check out Tomodachi Game. I think I’ll enjoy it since I’ve seen quite a few YouTube shorts about it lately! By the way, is it complete, or will I need to pick up the manga after finishing the anime?
Hey Melody, nice to meet you! Thanks for accepting the FR!
I'm honestly amazed by the sheer amount of anime you've watched and even tracked on here—it's crazy impressive! The last time I , I had tracked around 1.5k anime using pen and paper. Sadly, I lost that list... I would’ve loved to add all of them on here, but oh well.
I'm pretty bad with horror stuff, but since it's one of your favorite genres, I'd love to get some horror anime recommendations from you! I’ve seen "Another", do you have anything similar to that? I’d prefer not to start with something too intense- xD
Also, I was so happy to see Kurumi on your favorite characters list—definitely one of the best girls! And I keep seeing random YouTube shorts about "Tomodachi Game", but I haven’t gotten around to watching it yet. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it before I dive in, since you do have one of its characters on your favourites.
Its okay, I won't judge, you can tell me. Plus everyone is a little crazy right? I wonder why even after 3 years you find it hard to believe that you are actually studying medicine. Was it really tough to get into? Were there hurdles in the ission process? But even then, 3 years is a long time. I find it tough to understand, maybe you can elaborate?
Yep, like I really like Richard Feynman, he says things which really resonate with me and stuff. And his life was also like super messy. He really liked this girl but she had tuberculosis and stuff so he couldn't kiss her on the marriage ceremony. She died soon after, and he wrote letters and stuff to her after she died until his death. And so many mathematicians have gone insane! Compared to that I have a great start 😅
One can always improve, right? I was terrible at conversations upto like one year ago. I just you know tried talking about random things, random tangents, lot of stupid things and slowly you know you kind of learn when to say what and when not to. You always make mistakes in the beginning and stuff, kind of say things which might be weird or something people don't like, but that's part of it. I know your situation is different from mine but it's not anything worth giving hope over, right? You know, sometimes when things are bad we sort of forget that at one point things were great. I know this sounds super like bland generic stuff but it's from my personal experience so do give it some thought!
I wonder how an international university is like. There must be so many people from different places and stuff. Does it kind of pose a barrier to talk to them? I presume ragging type stuff must be lesser in such places.
For me I really like to reach out to my friends when I am sort of troubled in my mind. Sometimes I also say things, which maybe I should keep personal but I feel like with some people I can almost let anything out.
I would consider going if the teachers were really teaching it the way I wished to learn it, but I don't feel like I am gaining much by going to classes. Do you stay with your parents or in a dorm? For me I am pretty much independent in this stuff, plus my parents know that there is no convincing me. Even we have a attendance policy but luckily they dont enforce it so strictly(yet) so i am good (for now). I feel like the job of college to teach comes secondary to certification. Tbh all anybody gives a shit about is I came from this college and this course and my Performance is this blah blah blah. The biggest lie was to convince that it was a place to learn and prosper.
My exam went good! My sem is getting over this month and I am looking forward to going home! I want to eat all the things I missed out here. The food here is absolutely terrible, I have gotten so thin because of the food.
Come on, you can give it a shot, no?
Do you want to make your myanimelist detailed?
I am on discord, but I barely use it too. I made it like long ago for stupid things and it's just lying there. It's blank765. I am sort of busy with exams so I might not be check it a bit, plus I am not in the habit of checking discord yet.
But why medicine tho? Did you have any experience as a kid or something like that? There must be something, no? I feel like these things are very experience driven. Why does it feel weird too? Did you never expect to actually be able to study it?
I feel like how you want things to be and how it turns out have an error term which you know we kinda forget to include many times. When I read about people I respect, it's not like their lives was all great, they had their bad times too, and I feel like that's pretty important you know? These experiences is what shapes people and how they kinda treat themselves in these situations makes all the difference. So I am gonna become the kind of guy I want to be regardless of the situation I am in 😤
I see. Is it not possible to be the glue yourself? I am just kind of speculating. I kind of made friends just by saying hi to random people in my dorm every time I met them and chatting them up, asking how they are and stuff. I guess my experience is different because I just finished my 1st year and people don't already have their made up groups but I think there can still be a compromise in between, no? Sometimes i feel emotional and stuff and on those days i feel good when i speak to my friends. And it's kind of nice to have friends you know. Like onetime i got sick and I was dying and my friends came and made oats for me. I would have absolutely died without them.
Do you find going to lectures useful? I kind of bunk all my lectures lol. I like studying on my own. Omg bad sleep schedule has lot of bad consequences not a good idea until and unless it is sos like it is going to be for me today with 4 hours of sleep because I have exam tomorrow!
You can go to court and just ask if you can , no? I kind of did that for table tennis. And once I became a regular it was like normal. I knew everybody over there so it wasn't even weird.
Also why you keep your list private? Just asking
Also you don't have to apologize for a late reply, it's perfectly fine
