I reach out to you from the ether because you seem like the best person to receive my request. Can we have an upvote button or something to show for recommendations that we agree with even though we don't have anything new to add about the items, like how we can leave ratings for reviews?

That seems like it would be a useful feature to have and we can avoid having a downvote button to prevent flame wars, hate, spam or bullying if that's a concern. Often I'll see a recommendation I agree with but don't have enough unique points to offer that would warrant making a new repeat-recommendation. The votes would obviously have less weightage than actual repeat recommendations and I'm sure there could be some sort of mutually reinforcing approach like looking at whether the recommended items are also on any shared interest stacks in addition to recommendations and votes.

I thank you for your consideration and it would be much appreciated if you could think about forwarding this idea to the relevant tech team if it seems worthwhile.
