The official website for the Shinsei Galverse anime announced the main cast on Tuesday. The anime, based on the Galverse web3 project, is scheduled to premiere on YouTube and other platforms in Summer 2025.

Ring: Mutsumi Tamura (Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon)

Update June 3

The official website of the Shinsei Galverse anime announced seven additional cast on Tuesday. The anime, based on the Galverse web3 project, will premiere on YouTube and other platforms in Summer 2025.

I don’t know much about web3 tbh but as a long time anime fan and fan of the 90s anime art style I can say I’m excited to see what Ayaka Oohira has in store! I can easily get behind a project like this! ( ´ ▽ ` ) がんばってくださいteam Galverse！Added to my watch list!

Fair to be skeptical after a lot of the big projects that came out.

But Galverse was funded for a pretty small amount, relatively speaking - just enough for us to make this anime and nothing more.

We aren't selling or flogging anything, and the world and universe of Galverse was something that Director Ayaka wanted to make for a long time, but wouldn't have had the chance to without the crowdfunding this provided us.

In our case, we're a small team of 3 people working every day with the anime studio over three years to get this done!

@detarameMAL I understood it as the NFTs funded the anime not the other way around. Will be interesting to see the end product of all of this regardless though, at least for me.

I always respect the creativity that goes behind such projects – because there are creatives who used this as an opportunity to be creative. It would be disrespectful to call this slop, for example, because someone clearly spent effort on this. However, I just cannot bring myself to accept things made to hype up an NFT 'universe' to extract value from unknowing investors, nor do I particularly like the idea of "creating" IPs artificially.

The thing about these web3 IPs is, someone is always doing it for money. Someone managed to fund all of this, after all, and I just can't imagine anyone with that much money actually caring about making an anime. It's like a production committee, except it's one that sells not the anime but the NFT.

Will be exciting to see an all female-anime cast and VA cast in action! As someone who missed the peak of Sailor Moon this is something to look forward to. (Power's VA is a personal fave so that's super cool).

Surprised that such recognizable voice actors are attached a "web3 project" seemingly created for the purpose of flogging some jpegs... Pretty skeptical about this one.

I'm part of team Galverse. We've been working very hard for the last few years to bring this anime to life.

Super excited to make the first cast announcement. We have another big one coming soon, so please stay tuned.

Hope you like director Ayaka's art style. She is a once in a generation artist, in my opinion, and has worked harder and put more love into this ova than most very experienced directors can manage!

we don't get many all female action anime anymore, so ill take it despite not being a big fan of some of these character designs

at least I'm digging the 90s artstyle
