Each failure etches deeper into Phos’s psyche, further breaking who they originally were. The more information they learn the greater corruption occurs, both psychologically and within the gem society.

Resentment later pushes them to a literal breaking point, causing harm to those they care about, which snaps them back into logical thought. This Manga allows Phos to have a plethora of time to process and assess what their next action would be. Both lead to suffering, but will it be forgiveness or eventual hatred?

Guilt with killing someone.

Constant tension of not only fear, but the guilt for being reduced to a wife of a "monster" voted by the entire village (including your own family) abandoning you for sacrifice. VERY realistic portrayals of doubt and regret, as well as mutual fondness between social outcasts.

Great melancholy about how repressed and hidden feelings mixed with sexual desires that stem from them can ultimately jump into something desperate and terrible. It's tragic. The life-long atonement to remind yourself of the guilt from the past is both sweet and horrific.
