Days and days of badass Shirou fanservice.
Seems pretty ambitious to build a new Shirou from scratch in one movie, but they totally knocked it out of the park here with a variation on the character that feels right at home with the other versions of him. His ideals (or lack thereof) shine blindingly bright in the desolate world of this movie.
The only flaw in the experience for me was that I was a little put off by how different Kiritsugu seemed compared to how he should be after saving Shirou. Though perhaps it was a necessary sacrifice in order to have Shirou learn to love his imouto on his own.
The big highlight other than Shirou was Shinji showing up for 5 minutes and still managing to be the most spectacularly fucked up irredeemable rat bastard in this universe. His classic line from this movie (youll know it when you see it) gave me a good out of place laugh amongst all the despair.
Its been a couple weeks since I watched this and I still cry when I listen to the Emiya theme from it and think about Shirous speech to Julian before the final battle. For that reason I can't give less than a 10/10.
