Midori no hibi is a school life manga that tells the story of Sawamura, a delinquent who wants a girlfriend and because of his bad reputation no girl wants to go out with him. Midori is an obstacle in the protagonist's love life, she is from a different school and ends up becoming his right hand after falling into a coma. She had love at first sight, that is, one-sided love.

Kouta is her school friend, he also has a one-sided love for Midori, but unlike Midori who never had the courage to confess to Sawamura, he did it since he met Midori, she knew but never reciprocated. Ayase is a girl from Sawamura's school and follows the stereotype of an exemplary student. One day she ends up humiliating Sawamura in front of the class, but he doesn't care and goes home. On the way, other delinquents are looking for him. Ayase gets between them and tells them to leave. In the end, they catch her and take her to a more discreet place to rape her. Sawamura hears her voice and saves her from the delinquents. From that moment on, she falls in love with him.

Some time later, a transfer student arrives. Her name is Lucy. She comes from the United States. After some events, she falls in love with Sawamura because he reminds her of a samurai. Well, these are the main girls with romantic interest in the protagonist. There is also the president of the student council, but she just doesn't want the school to become a target for delinquents (her participation is brief, so there is not much development).

Midori initially gets in Sawamura's way because she is his dominant hand. She does the housework while he studies. Apart from meetings and fights, there is no progression in their relationship. Ayase is the one who leads the romantic development, besides going out with him regularly and showing several signs of interest, but Sawamura believes it is just friendship and continues like that. When she confesses in class alone with him, he gets on her nerves and ends up saying that she likes him. The best scene is near the end of the manga.

Lucy has said since she first appeared that she would like to go out with him, but Sawamura didn't want to because his best friend also likes her and ends up asking her out, it becomes a situation of unrequited love for the two because she has to return to the United States, he never explains why she came to Japan or why she left, that is a mystery.

Midori begins to realize that this situation no longer works and wants to return to her body, Sawamura and she do not want that to happen and the manga drags on a few more chapters. Thus the manga approaches the end, Midori returns to her body with no memories of Sawamura, he in turn continues his life without her. This would be the original ending, but the anime followed the manga, so it is not necessary to read it.

I just did this review for those who are curious about the ending, they ended up dating in the manga, good ending, but I didn't like it, I prefer an open ending since the other girls could date Sawamura, Ayase is still after him, Lucy could come back and Midori wouldn't have her father's in this relationship, unfortunately the manga ended too early, I would like alternative endings.
