This anime falls drastically short when compared to the original. The characters are painfully dull and lack any kind of depth or charisma. The fights are uninspired, the plot is incoherent, and it’s hard to understand why anyone would be interested in this alternate storyline. Especially considering the drug subplot was a minor element in the original series, its central focus here feels forced and unnecessary. The show lacks both logic and direction. You’d at least expect solid animation or compelling battles, but instead, we get a protagonist who’s even less interesting—and far less capable—than Deku, with a completely underwhelming ability. Overall, it’s a pointless spinoff that’s not worth your time.
