Watching this Anime with my son for the first time (for me and for him) and we are really enjoying it.
I am watching in Japanese (not using subtitle as Japanese is my 1st language) so my vocabulary may be incorrect.
I didn't watch too many Anime in my own childhood, but since having my own kids, I am making up for it! (I don't have to finish my homework before screen time anymore:) It's great to be a grown up!)
I think it goes on a bit longer than 167, into "Kanketsu-hen" (Final season).
InuYasha is totally awesome. I love the way he is simple yet complex, rude yet kind, strong yet fragile. Some of his decision making surprises me. I wish I had Tessaiga to swing around, when life brings unfairness / injustice and all other BS.
InuYasha and Kagome's very very slow-moving romance is frustrating, but funny and sweet.
Most of the episode are set in Sengoku-period, but some are set in modern Japan. These are basically 100% comedy. I found it hilarious every time InuYasha visited Kagome's home, especially when he dished out "Kaze no Kizu" at Kagome's school.
For me, watching InuYasha do what the hell he likes is energizing and exhilarating, and his romance / rite of age is heart warming.
