I always noticed the lag whenever my last list updates on the right hand side didn't update whenever I was adding more anime to my list. Another way to tell is if your comments or forum posts aren't showing up after you post them. But it's like I said, the lag hasn't happened for a couple on months now. I believe staff patched it up.

It can only be done when MAL is lagging. You keep 4 favorites and then when the lag hits, open multiple favorites tabs and keep adding favorites. The lag hasn't happened in quite a while though.
