I've loved anime since I was a kid, but I took a big hiatus when I was in middle school. I got back into it in high school, and have been back for many years at this point. I now have a mission; To catalog, rate, and review every anime I watch.

An important note here regarding this mission is that MAL doesn't allow me to manipulate the list in great detail, and also that when I write a review for an anime I do it for the anime as a whole in the review field for the 1st season, leaving the other seasons blank. I never believed in reviewing different seasons as different pieces of media. If the second season excels or falls behind, it will affect the score for the entire anime in the review I put under the 1st season.

My Rating System:

10 ~ A transcendent masterpiece. Exceedingly few get this score, as the difference between a 9 and a 10 is some elusive, unknowable quality that is almost like magic.

9 ~ An incredible experience. Those that attain this score not only nail every creative aspect, but are also anime that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

8 ~ A Great anime by all s. A lot of work and/or love was obviously put in, and it shows, though certain minor art or story decisions hold it back from being a 9.

7 ~ Decidedly better than average. These anime meet all the basic standards for enjoyment, but something still sets them apart, be it in story or some audiovisual aspect.

6 ~ Imperfect, but still worth watching. Something is keeping this otherwise good anime from what it could be, like lackluster art, weird plot, or inconsistency between episodes.

5 ~ The bare minimum, and the great filter. An anime must be at least a 5 to be bearable. These are at best ingly entertaining, and at worst boring or even just bad.

4 ~ Disappointing. Those which receive a 4, receive it because some major mistake or series of bad decisions ruined what could have been a 5 or even 6. Not worth watching.

3 ~ Bad. While some distant glimmer of quality might still be seen in some places, anything that gets this score is a lost cause, and its only hope is a remake.

2 ~ Garbage. Everything about an anime at this level is unwatchable trash, right down to the core concept upon which it is built. Doomed from the start, only fit to laugh at.

1 ~ Insulting. An "anime" at this level either offends the senses, doesn't make any sense at all, or is simply very, very boring. Not even worth laughing at.
