Just watch the old one if you want to start UY. It got great soundtracks, directing and most importantly more daring in the experimental and wackier thus funnier all around. This season is pretty stacked especially musical girls anime and this time I quite interested in few titles while don't touch any in previous season. So far I really enjoy Hibike Euphonium S3 and Girls Band Cry. How about you?
Also mad respect for having Ritual as one of your favourites on letterboxd 🤝
That was quick fav. I thought you finished it already until you told me lol. Yeah Tomoko single handedly carried the whole show. She is very relatable for an introvert an such with her social anxiety and all the cringe stuff that she did. It's just like we sometimes watching what if our own dumb self committing in these and we able to laugh it out for how stupid her actions or thoughts could be. Sometimes things aren't always as bad as what we imagine. And also look for its ED, I also like how different they are and each of them is quite good. I heard that in the manga she changed a lot since she will also get more "friends" around her. You should finish the anime first though. Heavenly delusion isn't good at all just like you mention. Akiba is too edgy so I dropped it already. Anyway have a nice day!
About Chihayafuru, I think it's alright not so many good things to say. I quite like one of the main guy and the side girl. The game itself is mostly just slapping the cards as quick as the narrator read few phrases. And by each episode mostly dramatic shots and screams of the characters doing just that and barely learn any meaning of the poems in those cards. The show did have narrated the meaning but it's only told from one certain character which just very little. It has more action feel to each of the game so it felt exciting and barely boring. The show has only a small to breath out of the hectic of the competitiveness. It can feel too much sometimes at least for me. And that's my overall impression of the show so far. I was quite surprised you actually enjoy Watamote haha, the dark humour is really good. Do you planning to read its manga and what are your thoughts on previous seasonals that you are watching ?
