I wouldn't explain the statement I would write the review in a different way so my point is still brought across without having to use the statement 'nothing meaningful happens'.

I called it an empty statement because it doesn't have any depth. If I explained every statement I made the review would have taken too long for me to write.

I'm not talking about the statement "I love you" though

It is impossible to explain what I mean by 'nothing meaningful happens' because there isn't any depth to that statement

When I say nothing meaningful happens I mean nothing meaningful happens. It is impossible to make that simpler

When I say stuff doesn't happen in re:zero I mean nothing meaningful happens and when I say stuff happens in march comes in like a lion I mean stuff actually happens...

I'm not saying march comes in like a lion is good because things happen I was just making a comparison to re:zero

Monogatari (and march comes in like a lion) has depth, things happen and I'm not bored out of my mind watching it. You can't compare those shows.

Also saying I like something of a specific type is correct because that's what taste is and saying "you hate another mainstream show because it's mainstream" while then discrediting the mainstream shows that I do like with "they're old fashioned" or "they're a continuation" or "it's a Masaaki Yuasa movie" is just a bit ridiculous.

While they might seem old fashioned (by your standards) they are still new shows. Anime as a medium is constantly building upon itself so wouldn't everything be old fashioned?

If you look tough my scores there are plenty of shows that are modern, modern doesn't mean the past 3 years. 3 years just seems like such an arbitrary cut off point made to exclude certain show on my list.

What about march comes in like a lion then?

I like plenty of new stuff though. How can I only be into old and non-mainstream stuff when gurren laggan is in my favourites?

Weird how peoples with toxic opinions have only comments ing their toxicity on their profil on MAL 🤔
It's like all of the negative comments towards them vanished...
As if they had a button on their profile to delete any comment against themselves so that they could avoid looking dirty huh.
