"Shinozaki-san Ki wo Ota Shika ni!" is a manga that is presented a little different then most yuri mangas. Each chapter is a setup for a comedy sketch with some sweet moments here and there. I enjoyed reading this very much and had quite a few laughs.

The art is really cute and I had no problem differentiating between the characters and it did not bother me at any point.

The story is sort of an Alice in wonderland setup where a "normal" girl reluctantly falls in the otaku rabbit hole. She wants to turn her otaku friends into normal people but finds herself attracted more and ... more to the dark side but is completely tsundere about it.

The characters do not really progress but I do not think they need to. It is more like every chapter just starts back from 0 creating the setup for similar funny comedy sketches and that is what this series is all about. An endless series of comedy sketches in otaku world with strong yuri undertones. In the ending there is some character progression but I feel the writer just wanted to end the series.

So far this manga is really cute!

Tbh, the creepiest thing about this manga is the whole imouto thing. The author puts in these scenes that involve the main character's brother's friends talking about how they'd love to be incestuous if they had sisters and how lucky the character's brother is to have such a cute little sister. That's really creepy, and the main character even plays to this fantasy sometimes! It's 100% the only thing about this manga that puts me super off.
It's really weird, is what I'm saying.

Otherwise the story is great. It's about a fashionable first year girl who is lonely in high ... school without her middle school friends. She sees a cute girl, but the cute girl is an otaku. She decides to convert the cute girl into not being an otaku, but ends up loving certain aspects of otaku culture and also finds herself falling in love with the otaku! It's super sweet and cute.

The art is great and the character designs are pretty good too! The story isn't something I would have thought of, but I like it. And I could always use more shoujo ai in my life.

Please try this manga out. It's cute and gay and interesting and that's all I ever asked for.

Shinozaki-san Ki wo Ota Shika ni! is a manga about Akina learning more about otaku culture because she ended up becoming friends with one even though she looks down on it. The manga is a SoL about a bunch of characters interacting with otakus as they talk about what goes on like going comiket, creating media like fanart, and IRL events for anime stuff portrayed in a positive light.

The girls are drawn in a cutesy style which doesn't improve or get worse as the series goes on. I enjoyed the series a bit, but Akina got really annoying with constantly looking down on otaku culture ... while also enjoying it with her new friends. Except for Akina's internal dialogue, I enjoyed the character interactions.



The ending has me mixed because while what happens is what I want to happen, it doesn't last for very long before just ending the series which was a bit disappointing. I was hoping for a few more pages to be able to enjoy it for longer. Overall the ending dragged it down a lot for how I enjoyed the series.
