Upon graduating middle school, Rentarou Aijou manages to confess to the girl he loves. Unfortunately, he gets rejected, making it his 100th rejection in a row. Having experienced heartbreak after heartbreak, he goes to a matchmaking shrine and prays with the hope of finally getting a girlfriend in high school. Suddenly, the god of the shrine appears, promising Rentarou that he will meet one hundred soulmates in high school.

Although skeptical at first, Rentarou quickly acknowledges the truth behind the god's words when two of his soulmates—Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda—confess to him the very same day that they meet him. However, there was one detail that the god forgot to tell Rentarou: if any of his soulmates fails to get into a relationship with him, they will die. Now trapped in a matter of life and death, Rentarou decides to date all of his soulmates.

With a heart so big that it can be shared among one hundred girlfriends, Rentarou makes the most out of his unanticipated high school life, with the Rentarou family growing ever larger!

Preliminary (210/? eps)
As someone whos been reading this series for the better part of two years, it's genuinely great...in that it's also one of the stupidest things ever written, and I mean this in the best way possible. Very few things are off the table as far as humor goes. Some of the hardest I've ever laughed at anything came while reading some of the just random weekly chapters of this manga. It's clear that it's something of both a love letter to and ironic "deconstruction" (if you want to call it that) of the harem genre in how it takes everything to its most extreme that ...

Preliminary (49/? eps)
It's just your average fan service/comedic manga.

I could end the review here, but I'll dwell about why I was so disappointed after reading it.

When I first stumbled upon "Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo", I saw pages about the 3rd "main" girlfriend and was really surprised. Those pages not only described her unique traits, but also made clear how the MC helped her notice that those traits made her the beautiful girl she is, even while being "the odd one" when compared to others. And so I imagined that the manga would develop around meeting all those different girls with their own ...

Preliminary (150/? eps)
(repost since this is more general for the manga)

While The 100 Girlfriends is often praised for being a parody of the harem genre, I personally found it to be an incredibly overrated series that leans far too heavily on the very tropes it’s supposedly satirizing. The premise alone—a guy is fated to fall in love with 100 girls or they'll die—is absurd, and while that could’ve led to some clever meta-humor or commentary on the genre, the execution falls flat. It ends up feeling more like a flashy gimmick designed to get attention rather than a meaningful twist on romcom or harem conventions.

The tone of ...
