This is a vanilla sibling incest romance SOL story which isn't terrible or outstanding. It has all the elements one might want out of a taboo love story and the characters are likeable but somewhat flat at times. There's angst as expected but the story takes an overall optimistic tone. The plot is reasonably realistic despite the silly sounding premise and I was able to connect with the characters and their struggles. The siblings' relationship contained a good amount of ambiguity in the transition between stereotypical close siblings and incestuous lovers over it's development, without overly stressing the "will they won't they."

You'll likely come ... to read this if you like the genre, and it may be a decent one to pipeline your besties with.

After read this manga, almost 80% of the initial chapters of this manga had very strange conflict fluctuations. Conflicts could come on suddenly, but they could be resolved very quickly. The climax of the conflicts really developed very quickly and ended very quickly. However, 20% of this manga was truly a crisis. Suddenly, the plot fell free becomes gloomy, full of despair and confusion, out-of-society things, etc. How did they get caught by classmates, rivals, even their own parents. Each of them resolved quite "fast" like the previous chapters but in this final chapter the conflict was much heavier and it was on ... another level than the previous chapters. This is certainly not strange because the plot was carried out with only 48 chapters in total, and it cannot be denied that it's quite short for a story like this.
About the ending, with very great and kawaii art, but it's immoral, yet there's no plot-twist (like "that they are not blood-related siblings" and stuff), this is a pretty smooth, yet a fair ending. They know the consequences of their decision (such as not being able to have children, getting married legally, etc.) but they stay together until the end. This is a fairly a fair ending with all the circumstances they faced from start to finish without hurting many parties. But from the bottom of my heart, some part of me really them, and I grateful for their sail. But some part of me really reject this ending (of course, because I still have common sense which leads to this being very unhealthy socially) ALTHOUGH THIS IS JUST FICTIVE, MOREOVER THIS IS 2D, but still this part of me totally reject this ending no matter what.

spoiled with the excellent artstyle from @hanoharu who is very cute, sweet, beautiful, etc. (especially as a male reader, I really love Uta), it's been a long time since I found the imouto character again with high-socks, twintails, cute voice (depends how you imagine it), kawaii face, small-to-middle breast, proportional body posture, etc. that related to "most image of imouto in this industry" or I can say Uta is "nation imouto", but it's really nostalgic (because it's been a long time since I rediscovered a character like this) and the impact is tremendous for my heart. Of course, Ami should be an honourable mention. The kind-hearted, ives, and straightforward gyaru.
The scenes are really aesthetic, fresh, and absolutely beautiful. It really works in detail and I really enjoy the drawing.

My thoughts:
Because of this inner struggle to accept an ending like this, it looks like this manga will be the last time I read about "sister brother romcom" because the impact of this manga is enough to make my heart upset. As if there is a conflict and fight in my heart when I think of this manga.
"You don't need to take it seriously about this manga". For anyone who says that, we have different perspectives on how to respond the ending. Some end up just plain without thinking about it, some end up with depression for couple of days, some end up with thinking about it a whole night then forgot already about it, some ended up with won't read this kind of stuff again. That's the difference. This is just a pure opinion and response from myself, do not equate yourself with others. Please take note of that.

Overall, it's 6/10, fast-solved conflict, most-of cute funny romcom with great arts, high gap level on conflict in the final chapters, fair-ending which made conflicts in the heart, manga with biggest impact, to the point that I won't to read the manga about "brother sister romcom" again for temporarily, even forever. This may be the last manga that I read about "brother sister romcom".

This was shockingly boring, for a taboo story.

When media has incest as its main theme, there is an expectation of conflict. It is, after all, not only against the social contract, it is also literally against the law. The fact that this story stars minors also adds to the expectation of drama, since it means they don’t have the advantages of adult life, such as economic independence. Ritsu and Uta have a happy, healthy relationship with their friends and parents, which makes their secret all the heavier because if it gets out, it could destroy everything.

Except it never does! When the rival heroine finds out ... the big secret, there’s never even a threat of putting it all out there. She just agrees to keep it, and goes on to the happy, incestuous couple. When the friend group finds out, they’re upset for less than 24 hours, after which they even apologize for their reaction. Hell, when the parents find out, they only one actually mad about it is the father, who still puts his son through school and apparently college, too? Just, what the hell.

It’s not that I want these characters to suffer, particularly. I just want stuff to matter, to feel as if actions have consequences. But the biggest one in this story is the father giving Ritsu the cold shoulder. He didn’t kick Ritsu out of the house, discuss separating him from Uta by sending one away, or even try to involve the law. He just ignored his son for the rest of the time it took for the kid to graduate, after which he even congratulated him on it. It’s all so boring.

Even the approach to the relationship feels like this. The characters’ ages mean the story cannot rely on fanservice to fill the time, so it instead abuses the most overused romance tropes found in fiction. Making Valentine’s chocolate, saving up to buy a birthday present, going ice-skating. These tropes are popular for a reason – good writing can make any scenario feel fresh with the right approach, and they can be great as character studies. But in this manga the biggest character exploration happens toward the end, when Ritsu is forced to figure out what to do after school. The rest of the time, the whole story is carried by Uta looking cute and blushing at her brother, who does the same but is visually boring in comparison to her.

Hell, even the basic premise of “only acting like lovers when outside the house” is thrown out of the window quickly enough, since they sure kiss a lot in Ritsu’s room, particularly. It could have worked, if it laid the ground for the parents to start suspecting them before the big reveal. But no, their rooms are clearly safe space, which makes the final part feels even cheaper, since Ritsu and Uta could have just gone there and avoid being caught humping by their parents, but again – overused, boring tropes.

I wasn’t expecting this manga to be good, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this boring. Even the art – which is not bad, not exactly, but it is not memorable either. The most remarkable thing about it is how it was clearly made with Clip Studio, since the default “Frills” brush is used a lot. Besides that, there weren’t really any s that stood out to me, scenes that I will be thinking about years down the line. For visual media, this isn’t good.

Honestly, to me, the only memorable part of this story was Ami, whose dedication to her studies in order to be allowed her dye and accessories struck me as genuinely interesting, and someone I would love to see more of. Hell, even the flashy guy and Hotaru were more engaging, and they’re basically a joke couple. But they had so much more going on than Uta and Ritsu.

So… Don’t bother with this story. Even badly-aged anime like “Maze: The Megaburst Space” had an infinitely more interesting approach to this kind of taboo, and it was a comparatively minor part of that story. Meanwhile, this manga had multiple volumes to make me care, and only succeeded in inspiring minor apathy. There’s just better stuff to read out there than this insipid pile of nothing.
