THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- ![]() Dat recuse and flight. Man, Kirito looks pissed off to me when he fought his way through but all those raining arrows. For a second, I thought he was actually dead for good tbh. Well, good thing Leafa later came.. Too bad she finds out the truth. I kinda felt sorry for Suguha/Leafa there. |

Wow, the beginning OST reminds me of one of Tsubasa OSTs!! Then Kirito went flying, but there's an invisible wall blocking. Asuna heard Yui calling, but Yui couldn't hear Asuna's reply, so she threw the card. It's time for Kirito to go alone (well, with Yui). Kirito's challenge... with the vocal OST... with flashback of Asuna... It's still too hard and he died. Then his memory of his journey (both previous arc and this arc). Lyfa came to the rescue and revived him. Lyfa just realized that Kirito is her beloved brother. At real life, Kirito also was told about her feeling. It's overall really too sad in this ep., mixing different sad feeings. I cannot imagine what kind of bond they are about to show next ep. (The title is "Kizuna") The end art, I just realized that the sword is not from SAO (and saw others saying it's from AW) |

This episode really fleshed out a nice fight but also gave out some rather sad drama for Suguha fans in the following,![]() Surely no one can deny that drama but TBH I find Suguha kind of MOE with this part in particular. Despite crying, she is also found blushing and as much flustered even. Kirito in the following, http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb480/Yumekichi11/Picture%2039/1354374814215_zps2ffe2afe.jpg DAMN! Guy takes multi sword stabs. I do it that his endurance was quite something even though he lost in thee end. Asuna flashbacks served as a good motivator for him. In thee end can’t deny the following in the spoiler ![]() BTW End Art focus in the spoiler ![]() OOPS! Notice Leafa sword NOW! It's Hime in sword form too. They are joking around with Accel World big time. OMG! I did not notice that at first but it's a given! Rest of thoughts follow in the club as usual. |

Well the fight was better than I expected but I wanted something more. The animation at times was weird. Second part was just boobs, boobs, boobs and Lyfa taking Kirito's flame. They(studio) really made her struggle towards the end. I think Sugu's act in the end was a bit too much for me. next time:One of the most cliche moments a shounen show can have. |

I wasn't expecting much from the fight but I'm still satisfied by what I saw. Most of them were how the LN described it, from blocking with his left arm to throwing one of the guardians to another and stabbing them. The animation was fluid but some shots were pretty weird. Oh well. inb4 why was his HP bar dropping slowly And that Leafa/Sugu suffering, from the rescue attempt to the big revelation. Good performance by Taketatsu Ayana. inb4 forced drama and incest So they ended it at that part. Should be good next time, though the episode after next should be that. Better prepare myself for that.

That would be their version of a cliffhanger (which in my opinion is a stupid way to create a cliffhanger, but that has been their MO the entire series). 24 will be the fight with Sugou, ending with his appearance at the hospital, and 25 will Kirito's last fight, meeting Asuna (up to CM break), and then final wrap up. I have had pacing issues with this animation since the beginning, so why should it change? So if true, you should get you wish, if briefly. |

Well that will be a very anticlimactic cliffhanger. And it isnt even excused like with the boss of the 75th floor. I they could somehow end it at Kirito in front of the big gate The entire part expect Lyfa and Kirito is action. and they can reduce Recon's screen time |

Worse than what i would initially guessed when reading the LN but better than i expected after seeing the anime till now, just saying that kinda depresses me but in any case it should be interesting to see how they pace the rest, really not looking forward to that hopefully they give it little screen time, sure anybody rather see more detail given to Kirito breaking Sugou's face in twice |

This is a team that cut out the entire climax of the first novel after all. Your suggestion would be the logical place to end it, but again this team has shown a preference towards ending episodes mid-action, so you might as well prepare yourself for it again. |

I was kind of expecting something a bit better. I kind of feel this part was a bit more dramatic and interesting in the light novel. Overdoing stuff is always a anime industrial trademark due to it mass affection. Hence I am sure in the LN it looked less drama than the episode. |

I don't know how it works, I really dislike Leafa, but I like Sugu. I felt so bad for Sugu, all that crying. I know how she feels sigh. All those Asuna flashbacks made me pretty sad too. To be honest, I thought he was going to pull off another resurrection there, but then I ed the LN. They really dragged this episode out. I wonder how they're going to do the last three. |

Oh and to answer ssjokg from something he asked me earlier (about if any episode stood out for me like that one episode of naruto did). I'd say if there was one episode that stood out for me, it would be this one (but who knows the last one could be a winner too). So yeah so far pretty happy with ALO. I think it was a wise decision to ditch the Tonkii part and put more emphasis on these episodes. |

So Kirito smashed face first into that barrier Suguha kept telling him about. I didn't see that coming. *Sarcasm* Despite the beginning, I really liked this episode. I think it's the best one since the beginning. It had lots of action when Kirito went up into that tree and it was realistic in the sense that he couldn't just smash his way through like he had against previous enemies. Kirito died for the first time ever and actually needed to be rescued by Lyfa, who was finally figured out that Kirito is her brother. Those scenes when she found out that Kirito is her brother and when she confessed her feelings for him were simply one of the best I've seen in SAO yet. Poor Suguha. The quality of the action, drama, and excitement in this episode is what I've been missing since the beginning of SAO. I never expected SAO to be Code Geass or S;G, but I did hope for something close to it.

Dammit, Sugu needs a hug. Like really bad. Although I'm sure a majority of the people already know, I hope people don't misinterpret the non-sibling relationship, they're not brother and sisters but still cousins. Can't really say much about the fight, rather it was expected. I never even read to this point of the novel. |

What the heck are you talking about? They didn't cut anything from the climax of the first novel. The climax of the novel was when Kirito looked at Heathcliff who has a pitying look on his face and suddenly thinks: "As if he was looking at a bunch of white mice playing in an inescapable cage". This begins the process of Kirito putting the pieces together to make the connection. The identification of Heathcliff as Kayaba is the most dramatic scene in the book, the point everything led up to, the point which defined everything that followed, and the animation completely skipped over this identification In the animation all Heathcliff is doing is standing there with a neutral look on his face and without giving any explanation, Kirito recalls the fight they had 2 weeks (and 4 episodes) prior and leaps to the conclusion that Heathcliff is Kayaba. There was no trigger, no reason why Kirito would think then and not anytime prior to this point (not to mention that they had just fought for an hour, and he was exhausted, which is not the best time to try to have epiphanies), they just glossed over the entire scene with his abrupt leap (both figuratively and literally) of faith. And it isn't like it would have taken much to provide the climatic trigger. Just Kirito mumbling "It's like we are mice to him" would have been enough. But there was no attempt even at this. It's like having the detective point to the villain and say: "it was you Colonel Mustard", without explaining that it occurred in the billiard room with the candlestick. |
