I see there's some people hating on these past two episodes, just know that Tsubaki isn't going anywhere and he's a very present character, it's better for those people to just drop the anime lol also know that Wind Breaker is a very (what some people would call) "woke" anime/manga

Still I'm happy the majority of comments are positive, I'm loving this season so much! I cried a whole ocean this episode

I didn't like it. It was horrible — the worst episode I've seen in the second season.

4 episodes without a fight. You're an action show, please do the thing you're good at.

Its character drama, worldbuilding and slice-of-life stuff is all pretty basic, I don't understand why they've put the main feature on pause for so long to just meander like this...

They are doing what they're good at. This show is about people. If you don’t like it,then watch something else, no? 🤷🏻‍♀️

There are a lot of great shows that are "about people." For me this one's doing just an okay job with "people" stuff, not as good as it is at doing action.

It's nowhere near enough to hold the anime up on its own over such a long stretch. If you like how they're handling it, great.

Season 1 did a better job alternating and mixing the character work with the action (even if it also dragged later on). I'm still here to see that.

I was hoping to get some action since we're entering the latter half of the season, but I really love grandpa's story.

It was touching to me, I felt sad that grandpa was being unsure if he was truly loved or not. The ending to the episode was beautiful.

That was such a great episode! I truly appreciate Tsubaki’s backstory, even though it was brief, it strongly portrayed the struggle of feeling alienated for liking things outside the “norm”. It was painful to hear Tsubaki say that he wanted to be/feel “normal”, especially when there’s nothing wrong with him enjoying dres and wearing makeup. Nonetheless, seeing him find two people who accepted him for who he is and what he loves was genuinely heartwarming. Honestly, it was a great episode that highlighted the struggles of of the LGBTQ+ community and did a great job showing understanding and inclusivity. Really looking forward to seeing more of Tsubaki!

The "date" with Tsubakino to visit the Ito residence and help out the ailing old man with the house chores since his wife Yui's ing, Nire and Suo share the same sentiments while Sakura just remains flustered with the old man sharing his tales of the time with his wife together. At least to Tsubakino, they treated him with utmost care that he's into the traits of feminism, that is a sentiment shared since the time he met them, albeit wanting to be "normal" in the eyes of people.

That story inspired Nire much for Sakura and Suo to beckon ing Tsubakino along. Sakura, however, interprets it in a way like Tsubaki is into Umemiya, which is kind of funny. But referrig to the garden outside, which was a garden until the dogwood tree's presence made it look out of place, it certainly stands to reason that he did all of the things for his wife, yet never attempted to understand her better, which now he only knows.

A different episode, but a great one at that.

This show man.. this fucking show. Genuinely one of the most beautiful arcs I’ve ever seen. I’ve totally forgotten this was a show about delinquents because the last month of episodes have just been so healthy.

First of all, I love the idea of the boys helping out at the Ito residence! It’s so sweet that the boys just do positive shit around the community and really make a difference with community service.

“I’ve always loved cute and pretty things” I need a collab between Tsubakino and Makoto from Painoko soo bad so many parallels in their character, except the windbreaker world seems waaay more accepting of Tsubaki than Makoto. Both are two people who struggled to conform to gender norms and having to hide who they were and conforming to societal norms.

Being “normal” is so overrated and I teared up watching Yuji and Mr. Ito explain how gender norms like clothing and makeup have evolved over time. We look at that as something for girls to do now, but back in the day there were guys wearing heels and lipstick. All of that stuff changes so much, just be true to yourself! There’s a powerful lesson in that for all of us.

The ending got me emotional again though because just as Ito and Yuji helped Tsubaki be true to himself and dress the way he wanted to, Tsubaki helped Ito finally realize how his wife felt. I hate that it had to be in death, but at least she can rest peacefully knowing her feelings have finally truly been conveyed

Amazing episode, so much stuff challenging traditional social norms and traditional relationships. Ito and Yuji’s love story is different from most, but it worked for them and that’s all that matters. That’s the theme of this episode, do what works for you!!

P.S Sakura being a massive Tsubaki/Ume shipper is sooo cute lol my MC is such an understanding king.

I believe that maybe every episodes now I will read your comment😅.
You're LOVE for anime just seem so similar to mine.
It's genuine from the bottom of your soul, and sooo DEEP!😁
I can feel it by your review;) .
Sincerly instead of classic eternally dissatisfied / embittered I cherish so much to read happy and positive weebs's comment^^!

Honestly I wasn't like WB's S1 much.
I was thinking than it's just about fights, and the backstories from Shishitoren was just to "do like".
But,I'm very glad to saw I was wrong.
Yes,it's not have the "new" original form of stagging.
We saw it in other animes.
It's not do the best and not the wrongest.
Meanwhile,WB really do efforts to give life lessons,to realize a chemistry between the casting, have a warm feeling, and finally be more thant just cool fights.
You inspire me to just totally relax, and CHERISH my anime and manga more.

Now WB with me went from six to eight.

@FrostyWeebNutz The initial story involves acceptance. It seems very fitting and in keeping with the first episode set up. There is a large cast. There are going to be different characters with different motives and goals and personalities and evolution of such when they interact. That's world building. But so far everyone of them fits into what we've been shown before.

Shit never expect Sakura blushing radar gonna be needed for the situation like that. Though the situation with those old pal truly touched the feels deep, especially looking at all those worry pretty much kinda happens for every marriage couples. Yeah, fits right to divert the attention from Tsubaki 'normal' situation. Fits right to view the relationship can be extended way long the due, by how old pals styles, can be that pretty, and, cute. Yeah, look at that last baba sticking tongue moment. Jeez

Wow, this episode was a total surprise! wonderful!
I am so glad the creators decided to mąkę such an unexpected move in the theoretically "shonen/action" series. Finally some fresh air, I'm excited to see what comes next.
So far it's a great series exploring rare emotional and social topics (rare for this genre). love it!

Damn guys what is wrong with you? Learn when to keep things to yourselves, interact on the internet like you would in real life, you wouldn't say that to anyone's face would you? Restraint is not difficult, that's why I have no acceptance for such posts.

This is an anime, it's not deep, there is no “propaganda” here Crossdressing is an element that is often used in Japanese media, if that's too much for you that's ok, ey but then leave it alone.

Further posts that go in this direction will be punished directly with a 5-day ban, nobody needs such stupidity.

Little Tsubaki feeling so confused and ashamed about "not being normal" really hit me in the feels. I'm so happy the Ito household became such a ive fixture in his life.

It's also so great that Suo knew the meaning behind Yui's dogwood tree. It looks like Grandpa Ito can put his worries to rest and finally understand how his wife felt about him.

Im not gonna go into detail but as a trans woman this really hit close to home. while I know that tsubaki isn't trans, I still heavily relate to a lot of what he has felt. so much so that I definitely cried more than once. windbreaker isn't perfect but I adore it for the constant positive messages it tries to send. such a progressive and relevant episode.

This episode is doing next to nothing to drive the plot or Sakura's development. Just seems to be pushing a woke narrative and scoring points with ers of effeminate or homosexual people using a throwaway side character who'll be irrelevant soon. Pretty obvious filler, but still very disappointing to see. I pray that this slop doesn't influence impressionable minds.

@tpot223 Hate to break it to you but those "young impressionable minds" aren't suddenly being made gay by the media they view. If they find themselves identifying with aspects of it then they were already gay to begin with, it just made them more aware of it. It isn't a "woke narrative". The whole show is about diverse characters from different backgrounds coming together and protecting their friends and their city despite their differences. Gay people (as well as other LGBTQ+ people) exist and they aren't going to just stop existing because you don't want to see them.
