Fixing Shitty Anime: One Crap At A Time (Part 1 Sword Art Online)
Anime Relations: Sword Art Online
If I were to make SAO (Some rough ideas):
-Kayaba doesn't appear in game nor does he have a significant role in the story. He is a game developer shouldering huge gambling debts. He hoped that his most recent game would be a hit and get him out of the red. Before the game's release he realized that it isn't enough to pay off his debt so he set up that brain frying system and lock system in a deranged attempt at taking down many people with him (hopefully family of the debt collectors as well).
-Kayaba commits suicide on the day of release and activates the NerveGear.
-Players realize they can't log out.
-Government attempt to hack the system but realizes that a lot of the top programmers are stuck in the game. (Computer geeks play games, big surprise right?)
-Only 10 floors in the game.
-Information begin to spread amongst the players that you can leave the game if you clear all 10 floors.
-Players begin to train in order to clear floors.
-Main character doesn't get special in game ability bullshit. He just grinded a lot and knew some tips and tricks from playing in the beta. He isn't the strongest player in game either. He is, however, very good at problem solving.
-Players are not told about the death penalty.
-PK guilds become very popular because game system promotes PvP with bonus experience.
-Players realize something's wrong when they see that there are no respawns and player numbers dwindle.
-One of the developers stuck in the game finally comes forth and reveals the truth about how the NerveGear works.
-Many players no longer want to clear the game out of fear of punishment in the real world for killing people in PvP.
-Boss of each floor aren't based on pure powerlevels. Each boss also have some sort of puzzle that must be completed in order for it to be defeated.
-Some pkers band together to stop floor clearers because they don't want to be charged with murder. Many floor clearers are killed thus slowing down the process even more.
-Players finally clear floor 10 and it turns out it was just a rumor. Nothing happens after they clear the game.
-People give up hope and gets too accustomed to life inside the game.
-Government finally hacks the system but causes the program to begin termination. Main character tries to convince everyone to get back into the real world but only a small number of people did. Most perished in their paradise when they decided not to leave.
-Nerve Gears banned forever.
The end.
