Classic mystery whodunnits or police detectives solving cases involving murder, theft, etc. with a limited number of suspects. Mostly episodic rather than a full series with only one plot/case. Some listings with supernatural elements but only if it fits the 'detective' part of it.

Title says it all. This list focuses on animes where the main theme is mystery (some kind of detective/supernatural help agency might be involved) and the 2 main characters have some kind of thing going on (with varying levels of canon-ness)

Warning; tone/additional genres vary a LOT. pay attention to them so that you dont end up watching something you dont want to see, lmao

WIP. What is the point of this stack? I have no clue. Mostly only includes shows I've seen & . There are most def at least hundreds if not thousands of these. (Maybe I should also track shows with an episode preview/recap before the op)

Shoujo--like all demographics--is incredibly varied, featuring a wide mix of stories, genres and themes. Its protagonists are no exception, with different personalities and backgrounds, and having both girls and guys in leading roles. I wanted to highlight some shoujo anime written from a male POV.

Also, I can't attest to the quality of the lower/more obscure series on here (especially since shoujo manga tend to receive pretty trash adaptations). So do keep that in mind.


And I should clarify that Cowboy Bebop and Code Geass are both actually original anime that simply have earlier shoujo manga versions. They both had promotional shoujo manga that began running a few months before their respective anime began airing.

A mix of different genres and themes to explore in the shoujo/teen girl demographic. Good for beginners who arent familiar with the content and are interested in testing it out.
