Yakusoku no Nanaya Matsuri

Super short review and my first one ever.

So in my honest opinion I don't think this show is worthy of the 8 I gave it if you strictly look at it analytically. The story itself is quite unoriginal, they could have done so much more with sound, the visuals are nothing to go on about, and the characters could've definitely had more depth to them would it not have been for the totally unnecessary fight scenes.

Speaking of those fight scenes... seriously, why? They served absolutely no ... purpose in the story itself and they completely killed any mood that had been set up by that point. Also, this anime doesn't really lack in the visuals department aside from the fight scenes. The fight scenes are the entire reason I gave the art a 5/10. The fighting is incredibly choppy and the art style of the warriors themselves is extremely distracting.

So with all that being said, why on Earth am I giving this show a 8/10? Well, to be frank, I myself am not sure of the answer to that question. This show lacks in so many areas and insists on killing its own mood; however, somehow it still got me to connect to the two main characters. It is quite hard to point out the specifics about why I enjoyed this show as much as I did, but I do know that I recommend giving it a watch. It won't make you cry like Koe no Katachi and the character development is comparable to akame ga kill. But, for some reason this show has the ability to suck you into the minds of the incredibly flat main characters. All in all I can't guarantee that you will enjoy this show; in fact, you'll probably hate it. However, there are a small percentage of people that will feel a strong connection to this show; and the only way to find out if your included in that group is to give this show a go.

I'm glad I somehow found this and watched it tonight. Wasn't really expecting much since it only had a hour run time but to my surprise I actually got invested and loved it

The concept of a futuristic (AR) take of "what if" u can meet someone u lost and were able to meet them again is the core of this movie
I loved it! It was simple yet you get invested really easily
It made me emotional at the end and I think the message really delivered by the end of the movie; if that was the ... goal then good job!


During the whole movie I really love the setting and really wondered if we can do something like this in the future

I can definitely feel the pacing was off and rushed during the whole movie
Even though the action was kinda cool; it felt unnecessary and serves sort of a plot device to have a villian/threat

If they cut that out, and replace it by exploring/delving into more of the characters like shiori and shoma's story then I think the ending could be more impactful by the end since you know them a bit better
Also more bonding scenes between them would have been cool

Same thing with the festival; I would love to know more about it and I was relatively confused of Kana's role; it sort of was underwhelming at the end
I feel like she could have played a larger role

Starlight Promises is a good watch and I really didn't expect much coming into this!
Ultimately the movie pays off and was easy to get into even though of it's shortcomings!
Definitely will recommend it and I hope more people take the chance to watch it!

To be honest we came across this one by accident and thought it had been a TV series. We didnt read the synopsis and had no clue what it would be about. Maybe that’s why we were a bit more judgy about this piece.

For a movie it is just...in our opinion just ok. The art and the music is beautiful. But the plot and characters are just decent. Typical ones Im ought to say. To be honest, the story is very predictable, as well. A few minutes into the movie we had guessed what was going on. Some motives were very rushly pushed in, ... and not much explained why it happened and how it was caused or connected to the main story (the violet.......not spoiling).

The AI concept used to say goodbye with the late ones was an interesting one. But they didn’t go into details or depth of it.
