Synopsis

The story takes place on a faraway planet, called "Chuu-Gakusei," where everything is in monochrome. The story follows Tanaka Satou, a junior high school teacher. All his students share the same name of Hiroshi Abe. Both the teacher and students wear a white, skin-tight garment that covers the entire body, including hands, feet and face.

A new character, Black Teacher, is introduced and reveals the existence of the Kuro Chuu-Gakusei, an all-black version of the planet.

Background

Chuugakusei was created by Seiichirou Shimizu, also known as MIKE, as a graduate student at the Shizuoka University of Art and Culture. It was ed to Nico Nico Douga on March 17, 2009, and went on to take first place in rankings later that year. It also won awards at the 20th CG Anime Contest and the 15th Student CG Contest. A complete version was ed to Nico Nico Douga on January 14, 2010, and also rose to first place in rankings. A 5-minute edition received the Grand Prize and the s' Choice Prize at the 13th New International Nico Nico Film Festival. The complete version reached the finals of the 2010 Douga Awards.

A 35-minute edition was released on DVD as Chuugakusei: Super Deluxe on May 13, 2011. A 40-minute new work, Chuugakusei: UNIVERSAL Sukoyaka., was released on DVD on April 27, 2012.
