Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu LOVE!

Why should girls get to have all the fun? These magical boys are here to save the world from the loveless... at least that's what the pink wombat who gives them their magical powers wants them to do.

In Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love!, the main characters are the of the "Earth Defense Club" at the Binan High School, though all they really want to do is hang out, goof off, and relax at the nearby Kurotama Bath. One fateful day, though, a pink wombat appears out of nowhere and forces these five high school students to become "Battle Lovers" and protect Earth from a trio of villains who are taking orders from a green hedgehog. Over the course of the series, the Battle Lovers will take on a variety of fiends, including the chikuwabu monster, a chopstick phantom, a monster remote control, and plenty more strange enemies!

Will the heirs to the throne of love be able to protect Earth from those who want to destroy love? Or will the Earth Conquest Club fill the world with hate?

So I started watching this show, because it had cute magical boys and I never watched a single magical boy anime until now. I need something fun to watch while balancing out the more serious anime I have on my own list… I went into this anime anticipating a masculine version of the often-mentioned Pretty Cure series. I was in for the humor and the wacky clichés. I actually really enjoyed this one.

Just know this is a parody of the magical girl and shounen ai genres, and also fanservice for the ladies (〃´▽`) It doesn't make it any less enjoyable to watch! It's apparent ... that it's written for fangirls who wish to pair friends together, it has a
highkey romantic undertones (i honestly enjoy that as a multishipper myself).

The five main characters are set in highschool with the usual genre stereotypical personality types. (the cute one, the lazy one, the brains, etc.) They're chosen by a pink alien wombat to be the defenders of the world and give love to the loveless. The catch, however, is that the main five characters do not care about this job. They make fun of their goofy clothes and give their attacks ridiculous titles. It's all a fun ride. The art keeps you entertained enough, it's easy and cute to the eyes. The music was repetitive, but well put into place in scenes. The weekly monsters were… to put it was not what I was expecting, they could have made something better but it's fine it fits the narrative.

Anyway, If you don't get attached to the characters, that's fine. With the self-aware humor, general wittiness and overall fun times with the mentioned LOVE-MAKING. Will I watch season 2 and the sequel? Actually, yes!

Mixed Feelings

It's a good anime to the time but not something I would review. An anime similar to Sailor Moon but with a more superficial story and with only men in the cast...I it I haven't seen an anime with a shotacon protagonist before, but the characters in general are relatively cool. It's a highly recommended anime for girls. By the way, this anime already had a game that unfortunately ended in 2017...

Average anime to watch on a boring day, the opening is good too. Animation quality is also standard but cute. But it certainly wouldn't be an anime I would recommend...

I was really excited for this when it first came out. I expected way more from it.

It essentially followed the timeline of every magical girl anime. Regular day, bad guy appears, transformation scene, fight, follow up. The only underlying plot wasn't revealed until the last 2 episodes and I was shocked at how awful it was. A TV show? Really? Most of the monsters that appeared were just stupid as well.

The art overall was not bad, but it wasn't stellar either. The music was pretty catchy.

There was no character development except for Yumoto's brother. The background character that chops up wood every 2 episodes. ... The group itself has no development. They were all flat and boring characters. Might I add how annoying Yumoto is. Take Nagisa from free and X3 with a pinch of stupidity and bam, Yumoto. Dumb moron wouldn't shut up ever and his voice is annoying as hell. Why is the main magical boy? Atsushi was introduced first and he's the only dipshit that has half a brain, should've been him instead.

This show was boring and was a pain in the ass to watch but I didn't want to give up so I finished it. Great show for young weeaboo girls who run around going "kawaii desu omg teh yaoiz XD". Basically if your anime taste involved Ouran and Junjou Romantica, perfect for you.
