Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami: Eien no Once More

The show got taken off of Amazon Prime, so I decided to check out the sequel movie. The first half is a recap of the most important Plot episodes of the show. So, like, four of them because that show was not about continuity at all, lol. I appreciated that, but I can see why someone would want to skip it.

The movie proper is about rumors that Creamy Mami is going to reappear one month after the end of the series, and Yuu knows nothing about it. Commence a bunch of walking around and chatting, much like the show. It's better than it sounds. Quite ... comfy, actually. And there are a few scenes where the animators obviously just started flexing for no fucking reason, like that raw-as-fuck car chase in the middle.

Oh my God, the picture of Yuu and Shingo after a timeskip is so cute!! Stay tuned after the credits!

Normally I do an extensive breakdown of the objective qualities of the anime. But there really is no point to that here. It's pretty much exactly the same as the Creamy Mami show in of characters, animation, sound ect. The animation style is the same, the OST is the same, the characters are largely the same. The issue is the plot. Yes, there are ways to tempt people into believing that Mami is coming back. But the revealed motivation for doing so is really dumb. Which makes the rest of the OVA's plot fall flat on its face. Really, the only reason why several ... characters didn't look like complete idiots was because Nega and Posi were coincidentally available and decided to bail them out. Which led to the whole climax/twist/reveal and conclusion being lackluster. If you just want to see all of these characters interacting with each other again, then this OVA is harmless. But it doesn't do anything to add to the story or the world. You can skip this if you were already satisfied with the ending of the show.
