Several months after the thrilling conclusion of the Asia Circuit Cardfight Vanguard tournament, Aichi Sendou's ion for the popular card game is stronger than ever. However, upon starting high school at the prestigious Miyaji Academy, a private institution that champions academics and sports, he feels disheartened when his classmates dismiss his favorite hobby as immature.

Despite his schoolmates' cold reception—and the student council's unwavering opposition—Aichi finds the resolve to start a cardfight club, creating a safe haven for other cardfighters on campus while fulfilling the academy's extracurricular requirement. Recruiting friends new and old, Aichi and his fellow club face a series of challenges while striving to have their club recognized by the school.

What makes Cardfight Vanguard an exceptional anime is its diverse and well-developed cast of characters. In the Link Joker season, this aspect is significantly enhanced alongside the plot. This season prioritizes the friends of our protagonist, Aichi Sendou, giving them more screen time and deeper character development. Through the incidents that unfold, viewers get to explore the history and chemistry between these background characters, leading to some of the most memorable and intense card fights in the series.

Unlike the first and second season, "Link Joker" has a more dark and eerie theme to it. This season adds a new card mechanic to series, but also ... manages to somewhat teach the game rules in the early episodes. So if you're looking to learn about the TCG all while enjoying the plot of the story, then be prepared cause the anime will not hold your hand.

That being said, I really did enjoy this series and those who enjoy TCG anime should un-deniably give this anime a shot!

I finished watching Asia Circuit Hen (ACH) and thought it's about time to stop watching this series. ACH was practically nothing more than a 30+ episodes prologue, with the last under ten episodes dealing with the actual story. Ok, at least try watching the first episodes of Link Joker Hen (LJH). And I'm so glad I did it!

In LJH, a bunch of new characters gets introduced, like Ishida Naoki, wannabe delinquent and an incredibly cool guy, Shingo, some nerd looking guy and the evil student council. All these new characters breath new life into Cardfight. Persons like Kamui, Nagisa or the Team Handsome ... in general get less more airing time, what is, good since they really started to get boring.
Also noteworthy: Aichi is finally in high school, so the whole plot is actually more mature including some love troubles :D.
However, the real story starts to unfold after about 20 episodes. Bad? No way! The first episodes are really good and in my opinion even better than the rest of the series I've watched so far even although only the new characters get introduced.

So, for all those people who watched the second series and wonder whether or not the continue this, give it a try. You won't be disappointed by this!

Mixed Feelings

I have quite mixed feelings about about this one. For one thing, the writing and character development is phenomenally terrible, all the characters are so unlikeable, especially the protagonist, during the last arc of the season when the world is at stake and they keep going on about a time limit, whilst everyone else is fighting hard to save the world, the protagonist decides to go home, mope and sleep. Aichi has never been a great protagonist due to his lack of a backbone but this season seemed to make everything so much more unwatchable. And after spending all of Season 2 (Asia Circuit) trying ... to get his Royal Paladin deck back… he doesn’t even use it. Plus as I have primarily watched D Series, the slow pace of the older seasons and card fights really does drag out. I do want to find things to like about this and I do like how they progressed a lot more Kourin’s storyline during this season but I think you’ll find there are more negatives than positives.
