The criteria here is simple: Anime released in 2001 or earlier, with under 25,000 MAL , and which I've rated a 6 or higher.

A rating of 6 counts for this second Obscurities list given the increased obscurity. A 6 is still an alright score. I've excluded anything that's particularly well-known, like Speed Racer or Voltron, despite both meeting my criteria.

It is perhaps worth noting that I rate things entirely on gut feeling. It's just, "I like that, that was good, it gets a 7.", that's the whole process. I can also find enjoyment in just about anything and there's very little that bothers me.

Osamu Tezuka was a Japanese manga artist, cartoonist, animator, and film producer. His prolific output, pioneering techniques, and innovative redefinitions of genres earned him such titles as "the father of manga," "the godfather of manga" and "the god of manga." Additionally, he is often considered the Japanese equivalent to Walt Disney, who served as a major inspiration during Tezuka's formative years.

Tezuka began what was known as the manga revolution in Japan with his New Treasure Island published in 1947. His legendary output would spawn some of the most influential, successful, and well-received manga series including Tetsuwan Atom, Jungle Taitei, Black Jack, and Hi no Tori, all of which won several awards.

All OVAs from 1983-1985 that I've found so far. This is the majority of them, but I'm probably still missing a few obscure ones, recaps, or miscellaneous releases. One notable OVA excluded from this period is Cream Lemon, on of it being a hentai series.

Note: I've seen varying dates for Midori no Neko, which is sometimes listed as 1983. I'll leave it here for now.
