High School DxD

High school student Issei Hyoudou is your run-of-the-mill pervert who does nothing productive with his life, peeping on women and dreaming of having his own harem one day. Things seem to be looking up for Issei when a beautiful girl asks him out on a date, although she turns out to be a fallen angel who brutally kills him! However, he gets a second chance at life when beautiful senior student Rias Gremory, who is a top-class devil, revives him as her servant, recruiting Issei into the ranks of the school's Occult Research club.

Slowly adjusting to his new life, Issei must train and fight in order to survive in the violent world of angels and devils. Each new adventure leads to many hilarious (and risqué) moments with his new comrades, all the while keeping his new life a secret from his friends and family in High School DxD!

Hear me out. or not.
But behold... and look upon those who share the good word. Blot out the prude naysayers. Look and see. The numbers of believers in this show do not lie. Have faith, ye brethren lost in the sea of ecchian mediocrity of contemporary times. For this was what you are looking for. This is what you crave for.

Boobs and ass galore. Yeah this show has em in spades. Babes and animation which are treat for the eyes, heart and anything that throbs in the male species. It could have been enough right there and there but then the show also has ... the audacity to present a fun story, great opening and endings, memorable characters and moments, and an interesting battle system.

Lest ye doubt the words of thine, witness the first episode. Thou shall thirst, brother but push through for there are scenes of wonderful skinship and immaculate jigglery that shall satiate anyone of their carnal fervor.

Do not watch in summer. Not recommended to watch with parents or your significant other. Do not watch in public. Do not watch with guy friends coz thy wont want no circle of throbbing disco sticks near ye. Actually, just watch it only on your lonesome for maximum enjoyment. NO. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY.

Mixed Feelings

So I finally finished High School DxD and honestly… it was okay. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. I watched it because I saw it’s kind of popular and people talk about it a lot, so I was curious. I thought maybe there’s something deeper behind the fanservice... but yeah, most of it wasn’t really my style.

For like the first 6 episodes (or maybe more), it felt like it was mostly about a pervy guy who only thinks about boobs. 😅 Issei is always yelling about wanting a harem and boobs, and it got kinda annoying to be honest. I understand ... it’s a part of his character and maybe some people find it funny, but for me it got boring really fast. I kept hoping he would grow more as a person, but it didn’t really happen until later on.

After that, the story started to focus more on fights and powers and devils and stuff, and I liked that part a lot more. It actually reminded me a bit of Darling in the Franxx, especially the way the action and relationships are mixed together. The supernatural plot was kinda interesting, and I liked some of the other characters too. Akeno and Koneko were probably my favorites, they were way more chill than Issei.

The animation was pretty good in some scenes, especially during the fights. But I felt like the boobs and ecchi stuff were just everywhere, even when it didn’t really make sense or add anything. Sometimes it felt like the story had potential, but the show didn’t want to take itself seriously enough.

I wouldn’t say it’s a bad anime, just not really my thing. If you like a lot of fanservice and over-the-top humor with action and fantasy, you might enjoy it more than I did. For me it was just a "watch once and move on" kind of anime.

Also I watched this Anime for a Friend of mine and this is a Genre I usually don't watch.

Starting with Issei, he was a bit of a more interesting MC of an Ecchi Harem than expected, most of that is due to Yuki Kaji's Fun Performance and how he wears his thoughts and Feelings on his Sleeves. Rias, our main girl, was a bit of a disappointment tho.
Not living up to the hype, she came off as vapid and at times downright creepy towards Issei to me, ... talking about him like property at times and comming onto him where it isn't always clear if Issei enjoys it.
Only after the Phoenix-Arc she become a lil bit more likeable to me.

The other Characters are fun but pretty one note and it was fine to me, I knew they weren't the focus of the first season so it reluctantly accepted that.
Asia was a nice breath of fresh air, her chemistry with Issei kept me watching for the first half of the Show, but in the later half she continued to fall into a stereotype and felt flat to me.

The Animation was all around good, especially for the female characters, and the Soundtrack worked and enhanced the Show's Atmosphere.
The Plot however was formulaic and to be expected for this genre, but at times exactly that predictable-ness made it hard to keep watching.

The Ecchi was good I suppose, tho felt entirely out of place mostly. I didn't need to see a boob every time a character had a tragic moment or had an important conversation.
It was fine in the right, upbeat moments, but felt disrespectful to the characters in the important ones.

All in All I gave Highschool DxD a 4 out of 10, It is a fine Ecchi Anime but it wasn't something I enjoyed.
