The premise was really promising about a kid trying to figure himself out with supernatural element of vampire in the mix but it felt off, both of them didn't mix well. While Mob pshycho also had kinda same setting but it's one of the best shows. I can't really put my finger on what went wrong with call of the night but there definitely is some potential. Let me know your thoughts on what could have been done and will season 2 be better. |

I am not a manga reader but I think season 2 will be the same as first season, which I think is absolutely fine. CotN don't need to be on par with Mob Psycho. Can't wait for peak wallpaper-material visuals again! |

There wasn't wasted potential, it's a solid season overall. And comparing it to Mob doesn't really make sense? They are trying to be very separate things. |

Hell no. I’m not watching Season 2 because even though I enjoyed Season 1, I read the final chapter of the manga and absolutely hated it so no point of watching a Season 2 of an anime that will have a bad ending |

wasted potential? They had Creepy Nuts doing the music how tf you saying wasted potential for an anime that only had one season so far? If the manga/anime was cancelled i’d understand, but “wasted potential” nah you ragebaiting for no reason |

It didn't feel off and it mixed well. You probably watched a different anime, e.g. Mob Psycho. |

Wasted??? Youre geeking off a perky big dawg bc s1 was great and Creepy Nuts gave us a banger of an opening as well🔥 |

Clearly you are in the minority of people who thought it wasted its potential, judging by the comments and the MAL score. Can’t really say anything else because you provided no reason for why you didn’t like it that much. |

Maybe I’m missing something, but what similar setting does Mob Psycho and this share? |

Season 2 will be the same garbage Just like season 1. Even the ending music alone will get someone arrested because of how terrible it was. |

Stating that it is "wasted potential" is just not true, first season was amazing in music, animations, character building and romance, the art style in addition was beautiful to witness. I'd say the plot was pretty good and hoping for season two to build off of what season one had to offer. If anything, due to how good season one was, season two might flop for its high expectations to deliver what we had for the previous season. |

I saw a guy online speaking about the manga and it's going downhill. Sad but the anime will get worse probably because of the manga not remaining on the peak it started. |

I think if Season 2 can deliver the same "Night Life" vibes as Season 1 and throw in some extra wallpaper-worthy ✨️ moments, then the ending being a bit silly wouldn't be a huge deal❗️ People would still enjoy it 🍻, as long as it keeps the core fun~ |

Hold on … let’s actually say what the issue is here … ”The story did not do, what I wanted it to do.” You are perfectly free to have an opinion, I’ll even fight for you to have an opinion, but , that is all it is, your own personal opinion, but also , that not everyone is going to agree with your own personal opinion. So your own personal opinion, is not the be all, and end all, of truth. Meaning your claim, “This anime had potential, but didn’t live up to it.”, when you can’t even pin-point what it didn’t live up to, is really just all in your own head, but that does not mean the anime’s actual story was bad. And claiming “It was not like ‘Mob Psycho’” … Of course it is not like that anime, it is a completely different and unique anime of its own. Why are you comparing and judging this anime, based on another anime’s story, when they have no relation to each other’s anime story? That’s like claiming, “Star Wars, is not the Star Trek, even though they had surface level similarities”. Watch the story this anime presents, and then judge whether it is to your liking or disliking, based on what the anime presented, not based on what other anime’s story presented. |

Season 1 was not wasted potential, not everything has to have the billion dollar budget. Reading the manga seems like season 2 would be like a 7/10, still very hyped to watch. |

(spoilers to contents in season 2) I don't understand what you imply by wasted potential. As a person who has currently read the manga up to Volume 15. I am quite excited for what will be in season 2 and I do hope the fight scenes between the vampires and anko will be animated well, especially between nazuna and Anko. in my opinion season 2 will be the best part of the story, learning about Anko and nauznas back story brings alot of shocking, funny and sad moments. At the end of the day as long as it's animated well and they don't cut content I will be happy |

Wasted potential? The show feels normal, its not as good as ppl might say it is but its at least its fine. It just feels like a normal slice of life anime with hints of romance thrown into it. |

I read the manga and it’s not nearly as good as mob psycho. Lower your expectations a bit and just enjoy it for what it is |

I get where you're coming from. I don't read manga so I'm only basing my opinions on the first season, but although the characters were complex and the animation was stunning the pacing is what killed it. Every episode just felt like it was dragging it's feet until the last 2-3 episodes where we're introduced to an interesting plot and new characters. I rated it a 6/10 respectfully, and will watch season 2. |

I didn't like the first season at all... The only thing that kept me watching was the pretty visuals of the night. But after reading the manga I really liked the story and the characters. I believe it gets good after s1. |

Well Idk I do think the ending episodes of the first season could have been a little more interesting, but overall its a romance with a unique premise, unique aesthetic and fun characters there isn't a whole lot more to ask for. I will say this though I do think in S2 you'll probably see more comentary around the central theme of escapism. Expect more of the same but just a little bit better is what I would say. |
