Bought the entire manga set on Amazon cause I was in the mood for some classic shoujo and the art looked great, and while I did enjoy the story and the art, for some reason this author likes to have constant sidebars that take up 1/4 of a page for her to say some random @#$%^ .....like oh big emotional moment going on in story? Great time to tell you about the time I got my finger stuck in a vacuum.. Its the manga equivalent on when your watching a Youtube video and the youtuber starts talking about Express VPN or some other useless thing you will immediately skips since no one gives af about that. Not trying to be mean to the author, I do like to see the author`s afterthoughts... after I finish a volume, no in the middle of the story and not constantly x _ x Is this like their "style" or something? Was considering on buying their other works, but not sure anymore....I have never see this many sidebars in any other manga I read, unless it was one of those "fan translations" (one of the reasons I stopped reading those lol) |

well, welcome to older Shoujo... lots of series are like this. I think Ao Haru Ride is the only one I have though. it's also partly the reason I only buy modern Shoujo now, plus you can't actually get most old Shoujo which I want lol. |

I absolutely adore Ao Haru Ride but I have to agree!! I thought I was the only one who felt this way and honestly I felt bad for getting annoyed that she kept talking about her towel club while I’m literally crying about Kou and Futaba. There were a select few sidebars that had plot relevant topics or gave fun facts about the background behind certain aspects of the story, but other than that I would just skim over them for the most part to see if there was anything important. |

The sidebars were always super interesting. I have read all the sidebars , I like to read about the author life how she is travelling for references , moving his stuff all those moments . |

I keep coming back to this manga, I adore it! I can see why the bars are annoying for some people, especially at a climax in the story. But I honestly love reading through them, learning a little bit more about the author each time! some of them are really funny and I even started watching an anime he/she recommended in them :D |

That space was for ads in the magazines that manga published, when the chapters were collected for volumes, there was an empty space in its place, so authors filled that sidebar with commentaries. Space for ads not a thing anymore, therefore no sidebar commentaries. Nowadays, there are extra pages in between chapters and/or at the end of the volume that authors can write about themselves. |

Honestly you could just skip the sidebars and come back after the volume or when you want to that's what I used to do |

It should either have had an ads (if you have read a fan-translation from the magazine), or the text in the picture posted (if you have read the official translations of the Volumes). If there really was nothing, then it was edited out by someone. Anyway, gzmOo perfectly explained. Almost all older Shojos series were like that, nothing surprising. |

I love these, every single one of them, and I never felt taken out of the story by them. I also love them in other Manga as well, I don't see the point, if u don't like em don't read em, it's not like you have to to get to the next page or smth ^^ |

Who is stopping you from just skipping them? You know they're not plot relevant, so you can skip them, no need to be so salty. I personally found them very endearing, and it shows the character of the mangaka. The more I learn about Io Sakisaka, the more I learn about the characters, even if it isn't "plot relevant" I start seeing her in the pages and personally, I very much enjoy it. On the flip side, you could also just come back to them later after you finish the volume if you feel like some fun trivia so you won't be taken out of the moment. like others to said, it was done in place of ads, but even if it wasn't, I don't see why it evokes such a strong reaction from readers. |

The manga’s story and art are enjoyable, but the frequent sidebars with unrelated commentary during key moments disrupt the flow. These sidebars feel like unwanted ads in videos, breaking immersion. It’s unclear if this is the author’s unique style or a formatting choice. The constant interruptions make considering other works by the author a bit uncertain. Trying to balance work and school felt impossible until. I discovered this helpful service https://academized.com/do-my-assignment through Academized. They stepped in to help me do my assignment when I lacked time. It really saved me from falling behind this semester. |

@SamanthaRoss Yup. It's kind of distracting. I still enjoy good old Shoujo, although most of them aren't even licensed in English unfortunately. I've got enough Shoujo in my collection for now though and I'm collecting different genres for a while before returning to getting a lot more Shoujo |
