Welcome back. Last time I did an Aikatsu idol. Now it’s time for… another one!

Body
Hair
Aoi has dark blue hair, as expected of her. It’s wavy and has a nice length, but sadly she usually has it on a side tail which is lame. When she has it down it looks really good though! She has windswept bangs and small but cute sidebangs. Not bad overall, better than Ichigo but not as good as Ran.

Eyes
Aoi has blue eyes. While I still don’t like blue eyes, her case is better than Miyabi’s as she’s very blue, down to her name. The shape is nice too, and she wears disguise glasses which are cool! But yeah, blue eyes.

Build
Aoi has basic measurements, which helps. She’s 152cm at the start of the series and grows 5cm by high school, then stays there as a young adult. Blood type A. Not bad but nothing impressive. Otherwise Aoi does well by default like Miyabi last time, which is perfectly fine and acceptable. Even as an adult she’s flat-ish, which is good!

Aoi never shows ass. She should pose for Raichi like Ran, but Raichi would probably faint.

Clothes
Aoi does well. Besides the Starlight school uniform (is cute, talked it before) and casual clothes, she mainly wears clothes of the Futuring Girl brand. It’s very blue and cool, works well for Aoi. She also wears a cop outfit from her Naughty Detectives work, and others I can’t right now. All in all Aoi does fairly well, lack of sexy outfits aside (obviously).

Personality
Aoi is pretty cool, pun intended. She’s Ichigo’s best friend and showed her the beauty of idols, so the two ed Starlight academy to become idols. While Ichigo got too much too fast and Ran got the shaft, Aoi did well mainly to getting work in a TV show named Naughty Detectives, which lasted for a long time apparently. The three also became a unit named Soleil (Ragnacenty in Japan) and achieved lots of success together. And then became high schoolers and got less screentime, but stull do well. Even as adults.
Now for personality. Aoi is a cheerful and energetic girl, not as much as Ichigo though. She’s friendly and helpful, and knows a lot about idols and loves talking about them. Her skill is never forgetting an idol, even! For extra data she likes sandwiches and dislikes hot food as she has a sensitive tongue (I sympathize). Overall Aoi is a cool, likable girl, but there are others I enjoy more in Aikatsu. Which is fine, she’s a Topaz girl regardless.

Reception
Aoi aces this. She’s quite popular, but not extremely so that she eclipses other girls, and as a main character she has good, fair screentime. Basically she avoids the pitfalls of Ichigo (favoritism) and Ran (un-favoritism) and ends in the sweet spot. Congrats!

Libido
Aoi is better at this than the average Aikatsu girl. That’s because… a shota has a crush on her! Namely Raichi, Ichigo’s little brother, who pins for her the whole series. It doesn’t go anywhere (lest yuri fans riot) but is cute and helps. Other possible but yuri pairings are Ichigo, Ran, and Kii. Not bad.

Age
Aoi is all over the place, starting middle school at the beginning of the series and going all through it, and then all of high school as well. She’s also about 22 in the latest movies. Overall that averages nicely. Her birthday is the 31st of January, making her Aquarius and thus get the Aquarius-themed Coord. Let an idol achieve absolute zero, what could go wrong?

Azusa Tadokoro is pretty nice. She also voices Yuzu and Karen in the other Aikatsu shows, but Aoi is better. Aoi also has a catchphrase of “Odayaka ja nai wa ne” (or variants) which is translated usually as “something special”.
