Anime Awards Rulebook
Awards Rulebook
General
🔷 An Anime's season is determined by its start date. (Exceptions if it carries over to the following year, refer to Leftover/Incomplete section)
🔷 Categories are not strictly defined by any database/official definition and are open to your own personal interpretation
🔷 Genre awards are not decided by "best show that fit under this genre" but "best show that represented this genre"
🔷 Back to back winners for awards is allowed. (But that's kind of lame and boring)
🔷 Anime that aired multiple parts/entries/seasons in a year will be combined and considered as a single entry.
Leftovers/Incomplete
🔷 Shows that carry over from Fall to Winter are considered to be winter shows.
🔷 Moments/OP/ED are valid only for the year that they debut in.
🔷 Shows that are not complete are ineligible for all awards except for Moments, VA, and OP/ED/Insert.
Movies
🔷 Movie year are determine by when they're widely available, even if its just a limited time. (US theatrical release or DVD release)
🔷 Movies are only valid for Moment Awards, Music awards, and Character Awards
🔷 Movies sequels from TV shows are not valid for Character Awards
Music
🔷 OP/ED that are sung in the show are qualified for inserts. (Buts that kind of really lame to do)
🔷 Inserts/OP/ED that are from previous years are not qualified for the current year.
🔷 Music listing/categorizing will be determined by AniDB -> AMQ -> ANN. If a song is not listed on any of those three sources, it is defaulted to OST
🔷 A song must've been recorded for the anime to count for inserts

Category Clarification
- Relationship ▶ Rather then focusing on a romantic relationship between two people, this category focuses on the bond, understanding, reliance, and growth that develops between two people throughout the series.
- Opening/Ending ▶ These categories take into equal consideration the music and visual as well as how well it represents the series..
- Insert ▶ Just being a great song is not enough, the impact and memorability of the song has on the scene should also be taken into ..
- Trainwreck ▶ This is not the worst show that aired the year, but rather then biggest gulf between potential/expectation and what was actually delivered.
